  • Question 01
Have you ever had feelings that God didn’t love you or that he wasn’t there for you? What are some things that caused you to feel this way?
  • Question 02
When you hear the word love, what comes to mind? What do you think the best definition of love is? And what do you think the best example of love to be?
  • Question 03
God commanded Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac, and Israel to sacrifice animals. How do these commands from God define Jesus’ death on the cross? What purpose did it have? What was its magnitude? What did it express to the world?
  • Question 04
How could the video make the definitive statement that God loves you?
  • Question 05
Do you truly know, believe, and feel that God loves you? Explain what led you to this conclusion.
  • Exercise 01
The story of Abraham and Isaac can be found in Genesis 22. Read this chapter and place yourself in the position of Abraham. Write down the emotions you would feel during this time of testing. Now consider how God the Father felt when His only Son was to be sacrificed. Spend some time reflecting and thanking God for His love towards us. Share your thoughts with the group.
  • Exercise 02
There are numerous ways to express love to one another. This could be words of affirmation, a gift, an act of service, quality time, or an appropriate physical expression of love. {Taken from Gary Chapman’s The Five Love Languages} Which of these expressions would you want to receive from others? Explain how God has shown each of the five love languages to us.
  • Exercise 03
Do you still have questions about God’s love for us, what Jesus’ sacrifice means, and how to live a life dedicated to God? Discuss some of these questions with your group and begin studying the “In Need of a Savior” course.
