This personal question is asking, “Has Jesus made any difference in your life? Has faith in God and in Jesus made a difference in your attitudes, your values and goals, what you say, how you make and spend money, how you regard others of a different gender, race, or nationality, how you worship, your sex life and your other morals?”

Jesus came into the world to save us from the guilt and consequences of our attitudes, words and acts that disobey God and to give us a new life in him. Because we believe in Jesus and want to love and serve him, we turn from our sins and are baptized in his name (Acts 2:38). This is when we are “born again” of water and the Spirit (John 3:3-5). We are buried with Christ in baptism and arise to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4). We are a new creation in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). If no changes are made in and after our conversion, then our conversion is in doubt. It’s been well said, “If your religion has not changed you, then you need to change your religion.”

The word of God fills our heart and mind (Colossians 3:16). We mediate on it day and night (Psalm 1). Through focusing on Christ, we are being more and more transformed into the image of Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). The Holy Spirit, utilizing the message of God in our heart, produces his spiritual fruit in us of “love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22-23).
