Do you know anyone who is not busy? The urgency of the moment and our focus on getting things done can occupy and distract us that it becomes relatively easy to neglect and forsake the most important relationship in our life. We can get so busy making a living that we neglect to make a life. One research study said that 40% of church members never open the Bible during the week. In a 24-hour day, there are 96 segments of 15 minutes each. If you subtract eight hours for sleeping, that leaves sixteen waking hours with sixty-four 15-minute time segments. Do you think you could devote fifteen minutes (one sixty-fourth of your waking hours) to prayer, mediation on God and his will and work, and Bible reading? Time with God gives insight and spiritual energy to see things more clearly. You’ll find that time spent with God is never wasted.

Have you counted how much time you give to looking at social media, watching television, playing video games or word games on your phone or other devices, reading magazines or novels, or texting, some of which may not be that important?

The urgent or good things can keep us from doing the most important things. We only have so many minutes and hours a day. By setting priorities and sticking to them, could you give God at least fifteen minutes a day?
