What has God done in your life that moves you to worship him?

God saves us from the guilt and consequences of our sins through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross. Because he loves us so much that he gave his only Son on the cross for us, we are forever indebted to him. When we believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, repent of our sins and are baptized in the name of Jesus, God gives us the forgiveness of our sins and the presence of his Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). God did for us what we could not do for ourselves. He saved us by his rich grace and mercy (Ephesians 2:1-9). While we were still sinful and wicked, Jesus died to put us right with God (Romans 4:25). The free gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 6:23).

The greatest, inexpressible gift of God is Jesus (2 Corinthians 9:15) who through his Spirit makes his home in our hearts (Ephesians 3:16-18). We are filled with the fullness of God and know the love of Christ that surpasses our ability to comprehend (3:18-19). Daily, he showers us with his grace, mercy and love. When we sin, he forgives us when we turn back to him (1 John 1:7-2:1-2). We are in Christ and Christ is in us (Colossians 1:27-28). We are never alone. He promises to be with us forever and never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5-6). He works “all things together for good” for those who love him and have accepted his calling (Romans 8:28).

In view of these gifts and blessings which he freely pours out on us through Jesus, what could we do but praise and worship him? His mercies for us prompt our spiritual worship (or rational service) to him (Romans 12:1). Now in this life, we praise him every day. Someday in the heavenly world, we will praise him forever (Revelation 5:9-10, 12-13).

While we live, God not only gives us Jesus and all the spiritual blessings that he provides, but he also gives us life, food, clothing, housing, family, friends, and “every good and perfect gift” (James 1:17). We are filled with thankfulness and gratitude for his gracious gifts, none of which we earned or deserved (Colossians 3:15, 17).

When we count all the blessings God gives us, what could we do but worship and serve him, filled with thanksgiving?
