Some seek a church, either large or small, where they are comfortable. Others want a church like the one where they grew up. Still others, choose a church because they like the preacher’s messages or the worship music. Some choose to go where their friends attend. Some choose a church that’s known and popular in the community. Others seek a church where there is plenty of activities for their children and youth. But none of these are the most important reason to choose a church home.

The most important thing to consider is this: Does this church follow the teachings given to us by Jesus Christ and His apostles? Are they teaching sinners to believe in Jesus, repent of sins and be baptized in the name of Jesus? Do the people love God and his word? Are they living out that love in their lives and ministries? Do their worship assemblies follow the teachings of the New Testament? Are they pursuing the three great works of the New Testament church in benevolence (helping the needy), edification (teaching and nurturing the Christian family), and evangelism (sharing the good news of Jesus with those who do not yet know Him)?
