First God wants you to know He is real and He loves you! The sin and evil in this world has caused all kinds of pain, sickness, and suffering. When Jesus came to earth, He showed great compassion for those who were hurting. Matthew 9:36 says, “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.“
In the same way, God in Heaven hurts when we hurt. He doesn’t want us to have to suffer. But because humanity has sinned and made mistakes, it has brought sufferings and death. Romans 5:12 says, “Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned.” The whole reason Jesus came to earth was to save us from the sin in our lives and the evil world that causes so much pain and heartache. Jesus says in John 10:10, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.“
Jesus accomplishes this by giving us hope of a perfect life with him and calls everyone to receive that life. Jesus also said in John 3:16-17, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son [Jesus], that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal live. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.“
If we believe in Jesus and live the way He calls us to live, He promises an abundant eternal life with Him, without sickness, death, suffering or hurting. It’s God’s will for us to have an abundant life with Him. And He calls us to live and pray within that will. We know this simple article cannot fix all the pain you might be going through. But, hopefully these things can give you encouragement and comfort while you are going through this difficult point in life. Please know God loves you and wants what’s best for you! His will can help guide us to those blessings of comfort, hope and peace which can only be found in Him.
