What if there is no New Testament Church Near Me?

  • Question 01
What do you believe is the most important thing to consider when seeking a church home?
  • Question 02

“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” Matthew 28:18-20

Jesus’ final command to His disciples before ascending into Heaven in Matthew 28:18-20 is widely known as “The Great Commission.” What parts of the Great Commission do you find to be interesting, encouraging or challenging to you?
  • Question 03
According to the New Testament, how did first century Christians respond to the Great Commission? What challenges did they face and how did they overcome them? Was this something only church leaders had to follow?
  • Question 04

“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” 1 Peter 2:9

God has given special authority and a unique culture to his church. He also issues to his people the pivotal responsibility to proclaim the Gospel and grow the church. In what ways might this verse be encouraging or motivating for you? How will you specifically respond to this command?
  • Question 05
What does it mean for the church to be its own unique culture or society?
  • Question 06
How is it that the Lord’s church can exist under any government or within any culture?
  • Exercise 01
There are countless people all around us who are not followers of God. This may include family members, friends, neighbors, fellow employees, or strangers you meet. Make a list of three people you know who need the Gospel. Share your plan to reach out to them. Be sure to offer encouragement and prayers for one another while also keeping each other accountable and updated along the way.
