God promised and had a plan to forgive our sins from the beginning. God prepared mankind for forgiveness through all of His work in the Old Testament. God has provided forgiveness by sacrificing His Son, which is the good news message of the New Testament. How does all of this effect your understanding of God and His desire to forgive you of your past?

We can’t change God’s plan for forgiveness, but thankfully, His plan is very simple. In Ephesians 2:8-9, we are saved because of what? How do we gain access to it?
Scripture
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. -Ephesians 2: 8-9 (ESV)

Today, many people misunderstand God’s forgiveness. Some people cannot grasp the concept of a God who is willing to forgive them of all they have done in the past. Some people cannot grasp God’s continual forgiveness despite all the fleshly battles they continually fight. Others fail to see God as a God who has promised, prepared for, and provided the conditions for forgiveness. In your own words, describe what it means to be forgiven by God. Highlight the ideas that have meant the most to you from our first three lessons. Include in your thoughts, the specific way we receive and remain in the peace of God’s forgiveness.
